A friend brought me me here and it was an immediate highlighted restaurant for me! Everything the group got was delicious. I highly recommend. The horchata is to die for!

They have the best burritos on this side of the bay bridge. The meat is always cooked and seasoned right and I love the ratios of beans/ rice/cheese. They also have a great variety of items on the menu. The place is clean, efficient and are greeted with friendly service.

Great customer service, food and ambiance. I will definitely come by again. Note - I've been eating at taquerias for a minute, it's an obvious staple in the bay -- but the taste of Trompudo's burritos just hit different. This was my first time here. Sorry no pics.

Going on my second year in El Sobrante and this is my fav local spot. From the day after Xmas breakfast soy rizo burritos to the the yummy veggie tacos or the huge burrito's this is the local jam in el sob bruh! Also don't be worried if things taken a few minutes longer or are a dollar or two more, it's because they are small. My favorite is the veggie tacos and soyrizo breakfast burrito with any combination you want to put in it. Support local!

A solid 5 stars for El Trompudo - I've never had a bad experience here and truly believe this is my favorite place to eat at in El Sobrante. It's along San Pablo Dam Rd, so anticipate a busy street while driving here. There's a parking lot at El Trompudo so that's a plus! Inside, the space is nice and homey - it's one of those local spots you just know gives community vibes. There's a good amount of seating and when you step in, you have so many options to choose from on the menu - Mexican, Salvadoran, and even some burgers! My boyfriend and I have a list of standard things we typically get here: - Carne Asada tacos: simple and satisfying, always packed with a nice savory hit! - Al Pastor tacos: also simple yet flavorful, not the type to get you feeling groggy afterwards! - Surf & Turf Burrito: one of my favorites! I usually order this without rice (just to watch my carbs) and they still do well with the protein. I have to say that this is probably among the best burritos I've had in the area other than El Tucan's red burrito. - Jamaica: always yummy and never watered down! Love that it's not too sour and also love that it's not too sweet. I definitely recommend people drop by to at least try El Trompudo. They never miss!

I was on a personal retreat in the area. Before getting started, I just wanted to grab a late dinner. I felt like going Mexican, and yelpers gave this a good rating, so I decided to head over. I ordered the Al Pastor quesadilla. I opted to dine in and then soon realized it actually came as a whole dinner plate! There were very generous helpings of refried beans and rice. The beans were also topped with a smooth layer of melted queso. The bed of shredded lettuce and tomatoes was super fresh. And unlike a lot of taquerias where the Pastor is heavily sweet, here it was more tangy than sweet with the pork marinated very thoroughly. Everything stayed hot, even through a cold autumn night. I finished most of it, but still had a slice of quesadilla left. I usually leave something like this in the fridge for a couple of nights to finish off later, so I don't get taste fatigue. But I enjoyed it enough that I decided to finish it that same night as a late snack. Aesthetically I have to admit the dish looked plain. But its appearance belied the subtle and pleasantly balanced blend of different spices and flavors. I'm really glad I dropped by. Thank you my fellow yelpers for beckoning me here. Another bonus was that everywhere was really clean, including the restroom. It was clear that ownership was very conscientious about how it cooked as well as how it kept the establishment. And a convenient parking lot to boot. Being in San Pablo, it's not too far from me, but then, sadly, not too close. At $12.99 for such a generous and tasty offering, it's a borderline steal. I just wish it was also on a borderline of Oakland.

Called in for pick-up. My usual go-to is a wet burrito with cabeza. Probably my favorite cabeza I've had so far. I rarely dine in, because the tables are kinda sticky, and it can get kinda warm. Seats aren't the most comfortable. Staff is friendly. Prices have gone up a bit, but not everything can be a costco hotdog.

4.5 stars, best tacos in the area imo! Got the al pastor, cabeza, and lengua. Very flavorful and kind service. Just had to wait 25-30 minutes on a Wednesday night which was longer than expected. Free chips and salsa which is nice but it is limited to 2 salsas per order. The chips are also circular instead of your typical tortilla chips. Nice and toasty! Will def return next time we're in the area.
